Day 27 to 28

Hello people, just thought i would do a small bloggy just so i can keep up with what day it is and for my records. How am i going ,not to rude for you is it yet. Day 27 was a bad day as far as kms went because i just couldn't get it together. Woke up in my cold damp tent and felt like a train had driven over me. Still it wasn't raining and i knew once i got going all would be o.k. Took off down the road and new i was in trouble because the legs wouldn't flow.Probably due to not resting properly since Pam's place in Esperance  some time ago. An old coach of mine told me that you have to rest or you will fold. Words of wisdom, old Grasshopper.
When recently overseas Telstra charged me 947$ for an email which i didnt pay, what are they going to charge me for the bit of real estate i used
Thinking of you John
This is where the my main bloggers went into a feeding frenzy because i stopped longer than 20min ,please.
Met a nice bloke just down the road who had a little hobby farm and we spoke for a while and i took a photo of him and his kid and dog.Now the kid has no pants on so all you prim and proper people look away or get your black texter out.
Tim and his dog(Do not blow this photo up if you  don't want to see a small boys penis)

Continued into Port Lincoln and arrived at the pub on the foreshore and the Bloggers went mad, Bluce ,Linds and Kelv couldn't contain themselves. What are you doing there(now should that be there, their, they, hey who cares)Good to see you boys alive and pumping. I love it. Doesn't seem to of happened tonight ,footy must be on.
Decided to stay in Port Lincoln and do some washing and get a good nights sleep ,plus pump some food into me.
Day 28 was a good day ,a gentle SE breeze pushed me along and i felt good knowing my clothes where clean and i wasn't getting rained on.Listened to the footy and ended up in Cowell and have booked in to the local pub, showered and going to get a meal.Well just got back from my meal ,2hrs later, unbelievable

Well after that big" t "bone ive just had i need to get some sleep,oh and one more thing ,if anybody has a problem with the content of the blog please refrain from insulting me and other people openly on the blog and making a fool of yourself, just ring me and talk about it .Its hard enough riding all day and having to worry about the perdantic.
GOOD NIGHT X

I'm am well pleased with the progress of your blogging, considering you have only picked up this modern day form of diary-ing in the last couple of months. Keep to task at hand & look forward to the many adventures you have ahead. xx J

  3. I hope you slept well and have eaten a great big breakfast this morning. B/c it is freezing over here and you're getting closer to the cold Eastern states.
Don't fret about the blog or bloggers. We sit with our legs still, looking at a superman's journey on our maps with orange dots on them, and having cups of decaf tea. You just ride, think, and blog for us all. Nice lot of hits, too, as you carry us all along on your journey.

  9. Please tell me you are resting your weary body in the pub on the corner and not where the tracker shows you -sleeping in a car just outside? I know accommodation out there is expensive but go easy on yourself. Remember "it's the journey, not the destination", so take a well earned break soon eh?

  10. Yeah ,the bods a bit tired from doing a lot of ks in the last two days but dont worry i am resting as best i can in cheapish pubs and motel type accommidation at night where possible.Today i will just plod along toward Adelaide as i have a slight headwind. My tactic is take it easy into the wind and make the most of it when its with me to build up a buffer of time ahead of schedual. I am bound to hit rain as i am going more south , then along the Vic coast. One other thing is that its hard to take a break if the place your tired is just crap.Port Lincoln was one of the best places ide been to so that was good for a break,Esperance another. Where as the Yalata Road House which is closed is a no go zone no matter how tired you are .Let day 30 begin.

  11. Hi again
you mentioned listening to footy. In the local paper here, they have the AFL ladder and even left off the last placed team!! Only had 17 teams...my team no longer exists. I think I'll take up cycling.

Hope the cold stuff not getting you down too much slugger, remember the journey should be the pleasure this time hope the winds blowin in your favour mate.

  14. Day 29 was a great effort into a slight headwind, which probably feels a lot stronger when you go as fast as you do. If you slow down it will be a northerly by Wednesday (day 31). But by then you will probably be heading east towards the best state in the nation. Watch out for Jim doing a little jig, you never get 'home' out of your blood! Bet he never thought he'd get back home!
Colleen reads excerpts of the blog to the Prep/ones. They are following you on a big map of Australia and will be learning about States at the same time. You might get some questions from them soon.
Lots of beaut places to rest up in Vic and it will be very cold by the feel of it.Do you need somewhere to stay a night in Adelaide or will it be just passing through?
Snowed in the hills of Vic yesterday, stay warm.

  15. Well picked up Jude ,i am onto the wind direction and agree with what your saying and i am looking for that northerly your talking about. I am treating it like a relay race where and you take off and move off slowly and wait for the baton to get to you then go like mad if you can. Make sense? Yes ,Pat told me Portland is where his dad died which i have to ride through so i might bring him out if the sun is shinning that day for some fresh air.30 days under my seat is hard going.
Colleen ,bring it on but dont make the questions too hard.lol

  16. Hi Grant
Just checking in to see how you are. Amazing that you have gotten so far but then again, having known you for so long, Iam not surprised. It is great to hear about Haz and Tan having a baby, that will sort the bloke out!
    Hope all is going well.
    Cheers
    Derek
