Day 31

Left Crystal Brook this morning and the temperature had been zero at 6.30am.After about 30 minutes riding  my ears  had froze to the point it felt like someone had stapled staples around the edges of them and my fingers which had gloves on had gone numb. My face was like ice and my toes non existent. The chilly wind from the South was freezing. First stop, Red Hill for a hot chocolate and i stayed there till i thawed out. After about an hour i made a run for Snowtown and the sun was out and the wind had turned a bit, making it a lot more pleasant. It was all happening ,trains ,wind farms either side of me and trucks everywhere screaming past me.
Wind farms to the right
Trains to the left

Snowtown was near as i could sense the hairs on my back standing up and then i saw the 5 km sign to go and i thought, who are they trying to kid.

Oh yeh, what about when you want to leave

This is the type of person who live in Snowtown.
Arrived at Snowy and met Liz who is the public toilet cleaner for the council and she pointed to the Bank and gave me a tour of the house which is attached. She was saying it was on the market for 200 thousand and it would make a great murder museum with the house (5 bed) being good for backpackers.
Liz took a break from cleaning the toilets  and gave me a tour and told me one person was tortured in the bank before being murdered. She did tell me how but that's not for the blogg Eight people where found in six plastic barrels in the vault.

The house still has the furniture all set up,spooky.

This is the actual S.A BANK and the house is on the left behind.

A huge wind plade in the main street of Snowy thanking the town from the  company  who installed the wind farm not far away.Must have over ordered
Overall Snowtown was a barrel of laughs and my stay was long enough to get the feel of the place. All i can say was the next 50 kms was done quick smart to get away from the place.
Now come on.....who let him out
I'm now in Port Wakefield resting in a motel room ready to attack the busy Adelaide traffic tomorrow, hoping the wind will be in my favour and not as cold as today.God Bless you all.

  6. Hey Grant, fairly crusing! Sticking to the coastal roads you say. I'm thinking that unless the polar ice caps melt or a bloody great tsunami hits, you wont be cycling through the Wimmera! The Horsham mob are watching with interest.
